Every crew that rolls out of our Gilbert shop carries the same standard, but it’s the people inside the van who make it stick. We’re a small team, intentionally so. Tomas Reyes built this crew around technicians who’d rather show a homeowner a photo of a clean plenum than talk about “airflow optimization” in a sales pitch. What unites us is simple: we show up on time, quote the job in writing before touching a tool, and leave proof the work happened.

I started CleanRun in 2013 after six years of watching homeowners get talked into work their ducts didn’t need. The worst was a retired couple in Chandler who’d been sold a full system replacement when a return plenum (the big box that connects your HVAC to the ductwork) just needed proper sealing. That job cost $340 instead of $4,200, and it taught me what this business should look like. I’m still the one who climbs into attics when the access is tight, still the one who calls customers back if they have questions about their photo record. My specialty is negative-pressure extraction (a sealed vacuum system that pulls debris out without blowing it into your house) on older Gilbert homes built before 1995, where the duct runs are often flexible liner that tears if you look at it wrong. Off the clock, I restore vintage Hondas from the 1980s, which is basically the same problem-solving with better music.
Marcus T., Senior Installer & Duct Repair Specialist
Marcus joined us in 2018 after ten years in commercial HVAC new construction, which means he’s seen ductwork installed correctly exactly once, and he still talks about it. He handles our duct repair and sealing work, including Aeroseal applications (a polymer sealant blown through leaking ducts to close gaps from the inside) and manual sealing of disconnected runs in attics that hit 140 degrees by June. He’s the one who found a full bird’s nest, complete with eggs, in a return plenum in the Islands neighborhood last spring. Didn’t panic. Photographed it, removed it, showed the homeowner, and had the system running clean by lunch. Marcus builds custom speaker cabinets in his garage and will absolutely explain the acoustics if you ask.

Before joining us, she spent eight years as a dispatcher for an electrical contractor, so she’s unshakable when three calls come in at once. She keeps a running bet with the field crew about what we’ll find in ducts: current leader is a complete set of 1987 Topps baseball cards in a zip-lock bag, found in a crawl space run near Agritopia. The homeowner had no idea.
Javier R., Apprentice Technician
Javier started with us in 2022 after completing the HVAC program at Gateway Community College. He’s in his third year of hands-on training and operates the Rotobrush and Nikro equipment on standard cleanings under direct supervision. His current project is learning to read thermal camera images to identify insulation gaps in attic ductwork, a skill that matters more in Gilbert than most places because our summer attic temperatures can degrade fiberglass wrap in a single season. Javier is the one who asks the questions that remind the rest of us not to assume. Last month he stopped a job in Power Ranch because the pre-work photo showed a register boot (the metal box that connects duct to your floor or wall vent) that was pulling away from the drywall. Could’ve been a standard cleaning. Instead, it was a $180 repair that prevented a $900 mold remediation six months later. He plays goalkeeper in a local adult league and applies the same rule: if it’s in your box, you own it.
